Continuing education dinner meeting: We are talking about strokes-from demographics to identifying and implement ways to change current practice standards to target the unmet needs of the young stroke survivor and their caregiver(s). Stroke survivors will discuss specific challenges faced by young stroke survivors and caregivers at different stages of the recovery process. Participants will gain insight into the personal experience of the young stroke survivor and caregiver.

Stroke: Understanding recovery from a survivor's perspective

 

Objectives:

-Participants will gain understanding about changes in stroke demographics

-Participants will be able to identify specific challenges faced by young stroke survivors and caregivers at different stages of the recovery process

-Participants will gain insight into the personal experience of the young stroke survivors and caregivers

-Participants will identify and implement ways to change current practice standards to target the unmet needs of the young stroke survivor and their caregiver(s)

 

Timeline of events:

Registration: 5-6pm

Dinner and business meeting: 5:30-6pm

Stroke Survivor Panel discussions: 6-7pm

 

Cost:

POTA OT/OTA Members: $25.00

POTA Student Members: $20.00

Nonmembers (clinician and student): $30.00
