Introductory hands-on session covers screening tools used to identify mild, moderate and severe low vision impairment impact on occupational performance. Learn to screen, identify and refer patients to low vision rehabilitation services; deliver basic intervention. Screening tools provided.

Objectives:

        Identify low vision, vision impairment, and functional ADL/IADL implications

        Identify components of a typical low vision evaluation and available standardized tools

        Identify basic low vision treatment for functional deficits

        Identify environmental modifications to increase home safety

        Identify functional impairment and criteria for referrals for at-risk individuals needing comprehensive services
