Greetings from the President

Meet your POTA Board - this is a dynamic, enthusiastic and diverse group of individuals who work collaboratively to ensure occupational therapy continues to grow and flourish across Pennsylvania. We value members' perspectives. Please let us know how you think we're doing and consider becoming involved in our association's activity. I look forward to hearing from occupational therapy stakeholders across Pennsylvania, and also to meeting many of you who attend local and state meetings.

Board of Directors - the legislative and policy-making body of the Association


Amy Gerney, OTD, OTR/L (2017-2021)
As the chief executive officer of the Association, the President is responsible for the management of POTA and represents the organization within and outside the profession and the Commonwealth. 

         Vice President:
Paula McNamara, MS, OTR/L (2018-2022)

The Vice President assists the President in managing POTA business and is responsible for Strategic Plan development and implementations. The VIce President also coordinates the Annual Awards process.  



 Michael Fantuzzo (2018-2022)
The Treasurer works collaboratively with association management and accountant to assure timely processing of financial information and obligations. The Treasurer develops a proposed budget each year for Board member review and action


Liz DeIuliis, OTD, OTR/L (2017-2021
The Secretary oversees all communication for POTA, records minutes of Board Meetings and the Annual Business Meeting, and assures their availability.



  OTA Representative At Large:
Krysta M. Rives, MBA, COTA/L (2019- 2021)
This member facilitates communication between OTA members and the Board of Directors regarding issues relevant to occupational therapy assistants. 

Chrissy Daeschner, MSOT,OTR/L President-elect (2020-2021)

assumes president role July 1, 2021

President-elect and Treasurer-elect:
During the year preceding their office, these individuals participate as Board members to gain knowledge of POTA's management and fiscal procedures.  


President Ex-Officio:

Following term as President, this individual holds a one-year term as Board member with voice and no vote.

The Commission plans, coordinates and implements the Annual Conference together with the Local Conference Committee.

This Commission promotes quality occu
pational therapy practice and standards relative to practitioner and consumer needs. 
   Commission on  Education
Ellen McLaughlin, EdD, OTR/L, FAOTA 
This Commission promotes quality professional development for all POTA members and oversees the annual scholarship program. 

Commission on Legislation and Advocacy

Chrissy Daeschner, MSOT,OTR/L

This Commission collaborates with our lobbyist,  monitors legislation, and promotes advocacy efforts for occupational therapy in the Commonwealth.


  Student Representative to the Board
Karlie Ashcroft, OTS
This member participates in Board Meetings and activities to represent the voices of occupational therapy students in the Commonwealth with voice and no vote.
